About this site
AttachmentTherapists.com is an independent directory of US therapists who name attachment-based therapy among the ways they work. It exists to make one thing easier: comparing enough about a therapist to decide whether they might suit you, before you contact anybody.
How it is paid for
This is a commercial directory. It is free to use and carries no advertising, but if you go on to sign up with a therapist through a link here, this site will earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The commission does not change who is listed or the order they appear in.
Who is listed
Everyone here names attachment-based therapy among the approaches on their professional profile, and everyone here holds a state license. All of them work online through BetterHelp, the platform their details come from.
The areas someone appears under are self-selected: they are categories the therapist chose when setting up their profile. Appearing under one means they have said they work with it, nothing more. If it matters to you, ask them directly.
What the license line means
Every therapist here holds a license granted by a board in the state named on their profile, and almost every one also has an NPI, the national provider identifier. Both are printed on the profile exactly as the therapist lists them, with a link to the national registry, so you can look either one up yourself. We do not verify any of it, and we never claim to have done so.
Where the information comes from
License details, the NPI, years in practice, focus areas, approaches and languages come from BetterHelp. We do not collect them from therapists directly.
The written summaries on each profile are produced with the help of AI, working only from those supplied facts, and are written not to add anything that is not in them: no invented specialties, diagnoses, availability or results. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
What this site does not do
- We do not check, rate or endorse any therapist, and we do not confirm training, license standing or registry status.
- We do not rank listings by quality, and the order is not paid for.
- We do not give clinical advice, make diagnoses or promise any outcome.
- We do not publish whether someone is taking new clients; it changes constantly.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, free, at any hour. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.
Corrections and removals
If you are listed here and something is wrong or out of date, write to us and we will amend or remove the listing. Therapists can ask to be removed at any time and do not need to give a reason. Removal applies across the whole site.
